Preston’s Hope Playground
Preston's HOPE Playground Park in Beachwood is the largest accessible playground in Northeast Ohio and certainly one of the most unique! It's more the size of a small amusement park than a typical playground and full of fun features to explore! Some of our favorites are:
The whole village of wooden buildings, some on ground level, and some on a second-story accessible ramp. Each building is decorated inside.
The wooden train and a hill full of accessible slides and games.
The dinosaur excavation site with a huge skeleton buried in the sand and dinosaurs to climb on.
The outdoor theater with lots of picnic tables.
Way in the back is another bi-level play area with the usual playground equipment.
One really nice thing about Preston's Hope is that it's mostly astroturf, which, in my opinion, is the kids-friendliest playground covering. It's also fully- fenced, though there are some gates in the fence at different points.
With 60,000 square feet of fun, it's easy to lose track of a child- so I suggest a small adult-to-child ratio here. Preston's Hope originally opened in 2006 and hasn't been renovated since 2015, so watch out for some deteriorating conditions like splintered wood and chipping paint in the wooden village, divots under some astroturf and some broken equipment.
Even though it's in need of a little TLC, Preston's Hope is well worth a visit and not a place your family will easily forget!
