Fairport Harbor Beach
Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park is a hidden gem! If you need a beach vacation, but only have the day, this amazing beach is only 1 hour north of Akron on Lake Erie! Can you even tell we're not in Florida??
The sand is white and clean. The water is warm, shallow and calm due to the break wall. Even small children can walk way far out on a sandy bottom before the water gets deep. There are lots of covered picnic tables and pavilions, bathrooms, outdoor shower and concessions. You can rent stand up paddle boards and kayaks on site. There's a great playground and lots of dunes for the kiddos to explore. You can see the lighthouse from the beach. The Coast Guard station is just west of the beach and occasionally you can watch them running drills outside the break wall.
The beach is free, parking is only $3/ car for out-of-towners.
Just a short walk up from the beach, downtown Fairport Harbor is an adorable little beach town with restaurants, an ice cream place, cute little shops, museums and a brand-new mini golf.
